Hybrid Car Heater

Do hybrid cars need a block heater for cold start?
I'm thinking of buying a hybrid car and I live in a state where Winter temperatures can drop to minus 20 degrees or even cold. I want to make buying a car to be launched in these cold mornings wicked.
Hello, no, you will not need a block heater more than you would for a standard vehicle of a full hybrid. I will break the difference in the end. E hybrid have been around the United States since 1999, so there is plenty of history of the cold and hot. Speaking for Toyota, all vehicles, including hybrids, under stress in Death Valley and Alaska to make sure they start in extreme climates. Most manufacturers do similar tests. I live in a cold climate (-5 Will be a great Saturday) and never have a problem starting any of the hybrid Prius, the Camry Hybrid Highlander or use. I have my vehicle in a garage, unheated, every night. If you live in an area that reformulated gas in winter, is all you need. You do not need line antifreeze gas in a modern vehicle a waste of money. As long as you keep your tank at least half (always do in extreme weather, hot or cold) should never have to deal with frozen water in a fuel line or contribution. The modern direct fuel injection, as in all vehicles Toyota, keep the sealed fuel system and burn small amounts of moisture that might be in the tank or lines. True full hybrid system in place electric drive, and then starts the second gas engine, so that the vehicle actually starts running when the engine is started. A full hybrid is one that can move using electricity only doens't gasoline engine running to move the vehicle. All hybrids from Toyota / Lexus, Honda Civic Hybrid, Ford Escape / Mercury Mariner Hybrid twins, the Nissan Altima Hybrid, and GM Yukon / Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid twins are hybrids. These things should already be available, although the Altima and the Yukon / Tahoe are only available in limited markets. Other hybrids is completed this year, but again, the markets may be limited. If you buy a hybrid to other treatments, such as a standard vehicle and put a block heater in it. This is because the partial hybrids or soft (like the Honda Accord Hybrid or the current Saturn Vue Green Line) to start the gas engine to move. The hybrid system simply increases the power and / or efficiency. Good luck.
